The 7-mile long Ravenglas & Eskdale Ry has provided regular passenger service on its 15-inch gauge line for over a century. It's looted in the Lake Distric (Cumbria) and is well worth adding to an itinerary..

Another narrow gauge worth a visit is the 2-foot gauge Vale of the Rheidol. This 12-mile steam-powered railway starts at the coastal town of Aberystwyth and climbs to Devil's Bridge One neat thing about Wales is the fact its narrow gauge railways are located within a short drive of each other.. They can also be reached by standard gauge passenger services.
