Just wanted to update my vote with a couple of pics. Found a couple of old slides taken on McClellan from 25+ years ago in my out-takes.
Waldorf is below and RR spur to the Vidler Tunnel shows right of center in green valley.
Another view taken above the end of track which was just off camera on right and slightly below and looks the opposite direction of the first
photo. You can see two of the upper switchbacks of the Argentine grade over which you travel to reach this spot.
The purpose of this trip was not railfan oriented so I don't have documentary views of the grade.
