Re: NNG: When was M&PP No. 4 converted to oil burning?

Manitou & Pikes Peak was converted to burn oil in 1992. The locomotive was returned to the railway in late 1979, returning from display at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. The M&PP Ry swapped steam locomotive #1 for #4. Number four was returned to operation in 1980 and operated in the 1980 and early 1990's coal fired.
