The
Narrow Gauge Preservation Foundation (NGPF), whose mission is to enhance museum exhibits where the public can learn the story of narrow gauge railroading in a coherent, comprehensive, and entertaining manner, has selected the preservation and restoration of Bridgton & Saco River railroad boxcar 67 for a matching grant. Now at the WW&F railway museum, car 67 needs extensive repairs before it can be used in the educational mission of the museum.
Specifically, the NGPF is offering a 2:1 "challenge grant." For each $1 raised by a new donor to the WW&F Railway Museum specifically for this restoration, the NGPF will donate $2 – up to the budgeted amount for the restoration. In short, the WW&F needs $2400 of new donations to receive a $4600 grant from the NGPF – which will allow the WW&F to restore car 67 over the next several months.
