The D&RGW had a Clearance Diagram in the Standard Plan Book. It also published its clearance of its lines in the national publication "Railway Line Clearances and car dimensions including Weight Limitss of Railroads in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Cuba" published quarterly.
On over-size loads, it is not unknow that a wood pattern was made up and put on a flat car to run test for big shipments on the Farmington, NM and other places. DPL has a photo of it taken by R. W. Richardson at Alamosa.
By the Clearance Diagram, NG tunnels had 14' width, and 21' to top of 7'radius roof curve. Clearance through bridges was 20'0". Standard plans was not acutal clearance but what must be used for new construction. See Clearance book for actual limits.
