I have a video showing a work train leaving Alamosa behing the 480. There was a fishbelly flat which had a crane on it which had overhang from the tracks-they had put planks under the tracks because they were so wide. I believe the crane was numbered D25. I have also seen a photo of huge tank leaving Durango bound for Farmington that was loaded on two 40'flats. I guess if it didn't compromise the stability of the car it wouldn't matter if there was some overhang. Anyone else can chime in. Hope this helps.
