Okay, that makes sense but a locomotive that size isn't nearly as light as the others mentioned that travel around. Would it be reasonable to assume that once it's moved to a 'host' railroad, it'd probably stay there for some time? Nothing wrong if it did, I'm just glad to hear there is a plan in that regard.
I've seen
way too many preservation efforts (not all RR related) where a dedicated group is dead-set on restoring something they can't do anything with., leaving you wondering why they bothered. In other cases, you have the mindset of, "It's
MINE!
Mine mine mine mine mine mine mine, and it's gonna
stay here, even though I can't do anything with it here!"
That doesn't seem to be the case if the master plan is to run 223 on a 3-foot operation somewhere else. That makes sense when it's spelled out like that.
