We will do the same thing as the Durango Railway Historical Society or Dan Markoff's Eureka or the dozen of other little locomotives that are or are being restored to operation with nowhere to run. And, although Johnson Barr meant it in humor, his updated adage is true - I personally have been approached by four very reputable organizations that are commonly heard of on this board with offers of assistance and invitations for operation.
Many people keep asking this same question on our facebook page, although this project is nothing knew. It's been going on slowly for over 20 years now, in the face of what the experts in 1989 said was "impossible" and "not worth it" (as quoted in the Salt Lake Tribune, June 1989) and with simple man power, determination and a slow trickle of donations the Golden Spike Chapter R&LHS has worked miracles and what they have accomplished was termed by one noted historian as "the most accurate restoration I have seen".
