NCO:
"Alturas" or "Madeline" ex D&RG "Cimarron" plan 178 or "Ogden" plan 178a. I have no idea which became which.

Usually. That wasn't quite cast in stone in the 1880's, for ex UP owned a share (3/4) in the cars used on it's lines, like the 4 on the DSP&P.

Again, things were a bit looser early on. I don't know details for any narrow gauge roads though. I'd expect it varied.

Several were rebuilt but most (about 15 cars) went to service in Mexico between 1888 & 1900, with the survivors (6 or so) being purchased from Pullman by NDeM after the Mexican Revolution (1920)
An incomplete list of rebuilt cars:
(D&RG)
Home-built Tourist Pullmans 450-460 mostly were used in work service. exceptions:
452 was involved in a complex swap of identities with pay car F, then became B-5, then 2nd B-2 then "Cinco Animas".
455 became Parlor car "Durango" (2nd) in 1910 and then "Gunnison" in 1937.
Tourist sleepers 461-470:
461, 463 to NDeM 1896
462, 464, 468 to Great Falls & Canada 1898
465 C&NW 1898 (later DB&W, WU, D&RGW. at CRRM) rebuilt as coach
466 to UPD&G 1896 (later C&S) rebuilt as coach
467, 469, 470 to C&NW 1898 rebuilt to coach (later DB&W, one of these three went to WU then D&RGW and is on the C&TS, believed to be 470)
Named Sleepers:
3 went to Uintah Ry, were converted to coaches cars "Americano", "Antonito", "Toltec"
"Salida" became SN "Animas Forks"
"Salt Lake" became "Ouray" and was rebuilt to parlor car, dism 1938
"Security" (originally on U&N) to UPD&G 1892, rebuilt to coach, to C&S
Four Pullmans purchased for DSP&P in 1882 were rebuilt (1906) for C&S as mail-coach cars. (115-118, later 40-43)
That's all I've got data on.

If you had a run long enough(time, not distance), it was the the in thing back in the late 19th century. I've always thought it odd that D&RG didn't do more with it's sleepers post 1890 but D&RG never did seem very into providing good passenger service on the 3' gauge lines in later years with the exception of occasional spasms of improvements like converting the Chair cars to Parlor cars ca. 1902-05 or the cars rebuilt in 1936-37. [Consider trying to go from Chama to Santa Fe or worse, Gunnison, by D&RG at any point 1902-1940] [But that's for another thread, perhaps]
