We've already discussed this somewhere. Apparently, everyone
either refrained from taking pictures or deleted everything.
I won't say anything pejorative about the implied emotion.
What I
did say is that they tossed away a priceless moment,
early 20th century and early 21th century together.
In the daze of film, I always carried more film in my bag than I
could ever use that day; that is one of many habits I've carried
forward into the digital age. A hard lesson for me to learn and practice
is that digital images are essentially "free"; there is no cost to
taking a picture you aren't sure of. You can always delete one later,
much later, when you really are sure.
