Some of my pics from 1972 show a freshly painted and lettered #487, so I thought maybe she had been used that year along with #483 and #484 - Mea Culpa. The roll from which the above were scanned also includes a shot of the side of a cab that appears to have been sandblasted, and there's a very faint top of an oval of lighter color that would be the upper part of a numeral '8' - not a '7'. OTOH, if both were in the shop at the same time there's no way of knowing which of the two is in my shots above - except that it looks like tubes are being re-installed, so it's more likely #487 if work on #488 had already been stopped by mid-January, 1973. IIRC, it was Rich Braden who got me into the shop, so maybe he remembers
