The information you seek about the LTRy&T is contained in the new book RAILS AROUND LAKE TAHOE (Signature Press). The wharf trestle extended 954 feet into the lake. LTRy&T was standard gauged by the Southern Pacific in 1926 and the wharf trestle continued to be used. This book also contains coverage of the Carson & Tahoe Lumber & Fluming Co., Lake Valley Ry. and Tahoe area loggers (M.C. Gardner, Sierra Nevada Wood & Lumber, Pacific Wood & Lbr., Truckee Lbr.etc.) as well as the Tahoe steamboats. All this and more with maps, paintings, rosters and scale drawings. Pardon me for "tooting my own horn" but it seems most fans have not heard about this, my 21st hardcover railroad book.
