I have an SP short five chime. I can't make out the casting mark on top of the bell but it might be T11594. The base (which is a standard 6" whistle base used on 5 and 6 chime whistles is "LB 0181" "LB" probably means "Locomotive Bronze". We had an SP 6-chime on the 1744 in ALA, I remember the base was the same casting # and the bell's casting # started with "LB" as it was bronze casting.
SP whistles and Star Brass whistles are two totally different animals. the UP used Star Brass. In Ala we had use of a UP Star Brass 5-chime from a 2-10-2. It has "Star Brass" cast into the top of the bell. The chamber lengths on the Star Brass were on an average a 1/2" shorter than the SP whistle. The two whistles sound quite similar but the SP is a bit deeper in pitch (although "deeper" is rather subjective as both whistles are rather high pitched).
The guy I got the whistle from years ago claimed it came of an SP NG engine that was being used as a stationary boiler at Bayshore Shops near San Francisco. I believe that would have been the 22. There are no markings on it to prove that either way.
