Hello once more -
These are new scans of photos that have mostly been posted before -
starting with three of my favorites, in portrait format. Note the frost on
the ties and tops of the cars in the first two. If the third one looks a little
intense it's because I was ex-Sperry-menting with a new polarizing filter
:
Here's Richard Braden (employee2) again, running helper #483, and Bowler-hatted Jim Shawcroft crossing Lobato Trestle on the road engine
:
The second shot here is the only one of all my several hundreds of photos that made it into Tom Gildersleeve & Nils Huxtable's 1993 book,
"Narrow Gauge ... then and now".
Here's the Hinmann car again - on the "chase" train - and diseasel #19 pulling #463 from Antonito. Note the icicles hanging from the west portal of Rock Tunnel in the fourth shot
:
After the stop at Rock Tunnel I switched to faster black-&-white film for some late afternoon and after-dark ex-Sperry-ments

p.s. As noted elsewhere, the 'Toltec Rattler' was NOT a Phraud-O-Freight. Both of the locomotives - and the caboose - were lettered for the
CUMBRES AND TOLTEC SCENIC RAILROAD.
* As also noted elsewhere, "Ex-Sperry-Mental" probably means "Sperry is Out of his Mind"
