In the past we have talked about possibly running into Bears, snakes, mountain lion and other wildlife. Well as recently as last week my brother and niece were finishing their visit to the C&TS on Friday morning with a chase to Cumbres, and then headed for Ohio. A few miles down the road near the bottom of La Manga Pass, they hit a deer, that was crossing in front of them going from right to left. It went flying over the side of the mountain to the left, and my brother was able to keep the SUV under control. This was near the bottom before the bridge. He was able to drive the vehicle although the front bumper was pretty beat-up. He is supposed to take it to Toyota this week for inspection. Now he says the check engine light is on. Prior to this on the same trip he had major brake issues, but at least he made it back home. Just goes to show that you can prepare for snakes and other stuff, but can have no control over hitting other things.
Just be careful out there. His cost per shot just went way up!!!!
Next week I may get to see the footage from the D&S and C&TS, and hear what his auto repair will be.
By the way he was the one considering doing the semaphores on the Santa Fe, but opted for the C&TS instead.
Be vigilant out there.
