Re: Watch for Critters

I hit a deer while driving to Chama for my first ever Friends volunteer session. Pickup truck driver saw the wreck and stopped. He put the deer in his truck and then came to check on me. Drove me to Fosters to get cleaned up, they hid me in back so I would not scare off customers, I was literally a bloody mess since the deer took out the windshield and dumped it on me. The TA clinic did not open until 9, so I figured "what the heck" and attended the 8 AM Friends safety meeting. About the time the site leader got to the part about "In XX number of years we have not had a serious accident" he noticed me in the crowd....I still have the nickname "deerslayer". BTW, the TA clinic is awesome, did a super job patching me back together.
