They have made a deal. Strasburg will pitch in a million and do the restoration work, but the museum has to pitch a million as well. And despite their "best efforts" they are only at $161,507.00 as of yesterday.
The boiler is already at Strasburg and a new firebox roof sheet has been made. The frame, tender, and all the other goodies are still at the museum site in Riverhead. Once the money is raised on the museums end, the rest of the engine will go to strasburg.
