That's right. KCS used this engine for switching in the bottoms of Kansas City. I seem to recall seeing a diesel-era photo essay that featured the hill in question.
For extra water capacity, aside from superheat, I think you'd be looking at a Class D with a two-truck tank.
I wonder if anyone ever considered putting an additional single-truck tank out in front of a shay for a different twist on a four-truck engine?
