Don't get too far from the water tank with this one. 17" by 18"
cylinders and a disproportionally small cistern plus no Superheat!
Wasn't this one ordered for switching and not road or spur use?
Regarding the UP Shay, yes, they had 3 assigned to that branch in
Utah, 59, 60 & 61. One was sold the the Oregon-American Lbr. Co.
at Vernonia, OR and worked there for a few years, but did not last
to the very end of steam. The late Arlie Sliffe, O-A engineman, told me that
she was a stop gap purchase.
