I would love to see some of your photos. I have done a couple of clinics on the Alishan at various conventions and continue to be interested in info on the line.
In 2000, I lucked on to a copy of a railfan movie of the line taken in the 1960's by Minari-san (owner of United Models) and have transfered it to video.
When I rode the line in 1985, I was lucky enough to ride behind Shay #31, a 3-cylinder 28-ton loco on one of the branch lines out from Alishan. At that time, there were still at least 3 shays in use. Alas, currently only #26 is in runnable condition and it is saved for special events.
