Good info sources not yet mentioned, CRA #8 "Senic Line of the World" and "Marshall Pass" by Bourneman.

Valley Line:
Last train February 15, 1951. Rails up Hooper- Mears Jct starting at Hooper Feb 17th and reaching Mears Jct by late March. Last run on 3-rail Hooper-Alamosa March 10th. Middle rail removed Hooper-Alamosa mid-March - April 18th.

Gunnison lines:
Scrapping started May 5th, 1955 in the Gunnison yard. By May 9th they were scrapping the Baldwin branch using #268. They then moved on to the Sapinero branch, then the CB branch. #268 killed on July 1st, put on dispay July 16th. Main line East from Gunnison scrapped, using #489, beginning July 24th, Reached Sargent by mid-August, Marshall Pass on Sept 9th, Mears Jct Sept 26th, and Poncha Jct a few days later.
Also used #483 to haul loads of scrap to Poncha Jct part of the Summer.
RGS Goose #7 was used, IIRC, mostly on yard tracks and sidings.
