There is a lot of detail about both the Valley line and the Gunnison line scrapping in various issues of Bob Richardson's "Narrow Gauge News" conveniently collected and reprinted in the CRRM's Annual No. 21. All kinds of fascinating trivia written right at the time it was all happening.
