Russ,
Once again, thank you for your donations to the 491. Work is progressing and she will be back in service the end of August this year, with her green jacket. After reviewing your pictures you posted, the one you have labeled in the cab of 484, I don't actually believe to be 484, rather not a K-36 at all. K-36's don't have their pressure gauge mounted in that location and they also don't have the oil can shelf just above the firebox door with the long hooked down shield. This picture got my attention because I actually think it is a shot of 491's backhead, which is very neat because we don't have many pictures of it, just a few from uncle Bob. The reason I say that it is 491 is because 91 doesn't have arch tubes, she has syphons, this engine doesn't have arch tubes because the plugs would be mostly visible in your picture. All of the K-36's have arch tubes, and all the other 37's have arch tubes, hence they would all have plugs. Also I'm holding my phone next to 491's oil can shelf as I type this, and I'm almost 100% positive it's 491. At any rate, I also could be on glue, (I hear I am a lot) it is a very nice set of pictures, thank you for sharing them and thank you for supporting the Colorado Railroad Museum's Steam Program!!
