If you look at the day before, engine 10 probably tied up at Austin after working the Prairie mixed, and 50 likely tied up at Larch on the work train. On the 23rd No 6 originated at Austin with eng 10 using engine 14 as the helper all the way to Larch. Engine 50 probably worked extra from Larch first making a run to S-Wye for wood and water, then probably bringing back the 12 lumber empties. I am guessing that they traded engines 50 and 10 at Larch. Then 10 made the second run to S-Wye for wood and water bringing back the 5 mty granite (flats with sideboards or actual gons?). 50 then took train 6 back to So Baker, its first revenue run with 20 lumber loads. Note that even though train No 5 was annulled for the day, engine 18 ran extra from So Baker to Whitney and back. On the 24th, engine 10 is back on the work train out of Larch, and 50 was not used presumably in the shop at So Baker for some finishing adjustments.

The report of the 23rd should have actually shown engines 50-10 instead of 10-50 for the engines.

If you look at the report, you can see where No 6 with 10 & 14 then 50 and Extra 18 took 25 lumber and 19 log loads into So Baker that day. The Whitney day helper engine 16 made three turns to Larch: 6 log and 1 lumber; 4 lumber plus 3 log from Scott; then 7 lumber leaving 9 log and 12 lumber loads at Larch.

The Austin day helper engine engine 14 helped No 6 (with eng 10) most of the way from Austin to Larch bringing in another 6 lumber loads. There must have been some from the day before at Larch or maybe some at S-Wye as 50 arrived with 20 lumber. Extra 18 left So Baker with 35 empties (are the "wood cars" hog wood for the boilers at So Baker?). I would bet that engine 14's second trip to Larch wasn't helping No 6 but helping extra 18 with 10 log loads. Add those 10 to the 9 that engine 16 took up and that is the 19 logs plus 5 leftover lumbers that Extra 18 took to So Baker.

Looking back at the 22nd, the Austin night helper with engine 2 left 4 lumber loads at Larch, so I can account for 22 of the 25 lumber loads at Larch.

With the three summits and low tonnage ratings, it was a very busy little railroad.
