3' rebar driven through holes drilled in each tie. The ties are set back about 1/3 width each row. Took half a day to prepare a level base and set the ties for Tom and I, and the other half for the 3 of us to empty the car. As we were dumping to only one side we had to trip only one door at a time and shovel the opposite side out the empty door before tripping another door.

We didn't want to tip the car over, so had to keep it somewhat balanced. The turning wye was 2 1/2 miles away, so running back and forth would have been more time consuming than shoveling.

The WP&Y tipped some side dump cars over and they took the #19 with them into the lake. We like to learn for others misfortune whenever possible.
