Coach 26 was built solely as a coach. Tim Bain (cuzin Tim) emailed me a year or two ago asking for details on when these conversions were made. As I recall the AFE/Completion report material we have was silent. However, I have since that time been in touch with a gentleman that did extensive research at the Nat. Archives on the SVRy car roster. I may send him and email to see if his has anything. As we do have the AFE/Completetion book 1935 forward, my guess was that the conversion was made in the early 1930 when the pass. train became a mixed due to the ecomomic times. FYI, the box on the front platform contains a small Onan electric generator that was added in the mid 30's for electric lights in the car. I found this at least in the AFE material.
