If I remember correctly the 750 mm or 2 ft 5 1/2 in gauge come out of WWI trench warfare railroads. The economico gauge of Patagonia, Argentina used this gauge because companies in Beligum had a surplus of equipment after the war. Steam Locomotives were built in 1922 by both Baldwin and Henchel for all the lines.
