Colombia- 3ft gauge (no connections)

Ecuador- 42 in gauge (no connections)

Venezuela- Standard gauge (no connections)

Peru- 3ft. (no connections)
Standard gauge (no connections)

Bolivia- Meter gauge Connections to Chile and Brazil Meter gauge systems.

Argentina- Standard gauge One time connection to Paraquay (still has
limited transfers at Posada, Argentina.
5 ft 6in gauge (no connections)
Meter gauge- Connections to Brazil, Chile and limited service
to Bolivia's Eastern Meter Gauge system.
2ft 5 1/2in gauge only in Southern Argentina (no connections).

Paraguay- Standard Gauge and only about 2 km of track in Encarncion near
Posadas still in service and switched by wood burning steam
engines.

Uruguay- Standard gauge (No connections)

Chile- 5 ft 6in gauge with (no connections)
Meter gauge with two connections to Argentina and Bolivia.

Brazil- 5 ft 3 in (no connections)
Meter gauge with connections to Bolivia and Argentina.

Any other countries in South America are dormant or closed or abandoned. Central America has only 42 in. gauge in Costa Rica operating or Panama with standard gauge. El Salvador 3 ft gauge may have limited service in the San Salvador area. Most other lines are closed or have been looted for rail.
