Thanks for the links, Bruce. It was an advertisement for the 2-6-2 that first alerted me to the existence of Dry Gulch several years ago. Is the engine really still for sale? It surprises me that they haven't found a buyer yet . Yes, she's "as is", but my understanding is that they were almost done with the restoration when they stopped and the engine is essentially in working order with just a few appliances left to be fitted. (There's even a nice new wooden cab!) Yes, as I understand it they've converted her to burn propane, but I imagine that could be reversed pretty easily.
