Hi Jason,
I volunteer for a similar Christian Camp with a narrow gauge (3') railroad (the Doe River Gorge Camp, operating 2.3 miles of the old ET&WNC through the gorge). DRG staff have visited the Dry Gulch RR several times for ideas, etc.
The Doe River Gorge staff are very accommodating to visitors, allowing visitors to hike the roadbed if they sign a release. During camp season in the summer, extra visitors are not usually allowed for the campers' safety. However, visitors are allowed & can ride the train on Day Quest Saturdays (see: [
www.doerivergorge.com] for dates & costs). While I cannot speak for the Dry Gulch camp, if you contact them ahead of a visit - especially off season - you may be allowed to visit, and even get a "guided" tour of the train facilities. I think it would be worth a try! At DRG we often provide a speeder ride if staff or volunteers are available!
