The final scheduled run of the Chili Line was on Sept. 1, 1941. The northbound train had engine 470. The conductor was Henry Willis, engineer Charles Arnell, fireman Roy Brown and trainman John Clark Legg. W.T. ``Red'' Lewis probably also was on the crew.
While this was the official end trains arrived in Santa Fe after that date as part of the scrapping operations. According to Jimmy Blouch the 470 returned a week later with 6 cars of freight. Officially it was a scrap train.
