By way of contrast, here is Monson No. 3's builder's photo. Note the small bell -- standard Vulcan hardware.
And detail of an early photo of her at the Monson depot, sometime in the 1910s, with the small Vulcan bell:
Which may be compared with this recent shot (2007 photo from Wikipedia) of her with SR&RL coach 18 in Phillips, ME, big Hinkley bell much in evidence!
