For Video, I use a Sony HDR-XR150 Hard drive camera. Image clarity is much better than my old JVC camera, and the video format is much more compatible with PC software. JVC used to use a proprietary software that could only be decoded by their codecs. It would crash my computer when trying to view (even after I installed the proper codecs).
My two biggest problems with the sony as of now are:
Low light; My Iphone has a better low light sensor than the sony. When shooting after sun down, I usually pull out the iphone and pack up the sony.
Hard Drive; I used to preach hard drive, as there was no need to buy extra memory cards. The problem with hard drives (specifically pertaining to mobile hobbies) is that any vibrations to the camera end with the hard drive shutting down and loss of current video. With flash memory, there are no moving parts (accept for the electricity itself), and much less loss due to vibrations or other movement of the camera.
