That's O-K, Jason -
This old Curmudgeon first rode from Alamosa through Antonito to Chama (and on to Silverton & back) in June of 1960, and I never heard the term "Gravity Hill" until just a couple of years ago. Here's a shot of #315 descending the grade very close to m.p. 289 in mid-June, 2008, taken from about two miles to the north

As Earl noted, the top of the mesa slopes slightly downward to the east - which makes the grade look somewhat steeper than it really is.
