You could also be right.

TNT had a brief before one of the shownings. IIRC, Jimmy Stewert had completed a film and was supposed to get 6-8 months off. The studio got him to into the film by using some sort of leverage with the accordian. I could be recalling incorrectly of the script rewright or maybe the script had taken out the the accordian actually being played etc.

I'd be curious to finding out the background.

The one plot item was taking a short cut through a mine that went through the mountain (I think this is the movie with this story line) was a great catch. Don't know if it ever occured but using one mine to drain another and one mine to allow better access to another's lower levels and not having to lift the ore so far seems to be actual occurences.
