The San Juan drumhead is in a private collection in Ohio. In 2003 the owner wanted to display it at the CRRM for a very very short period of time. He was turned down due to his demands how the CRRM should display it and what the CRRM's responsibilty would be. He wanted the CRRM to baby sit the drumhead until his building in Ohio was renovated. I got a brief glimpse of it. Tried to lease/buy/get it donated, but the owner would not part with it. I was the Executive Director at the time, but no amount of pleading worked. I apologize, but for the life of me I can't remember who the man was. I'm getting fuzzy. Charles Albi might remember the circumstances.

PS Thinking back, The man wanted the CRRM to store it for him. He had just acquired it and wanted the CRRM to baby sit it and then crate and ship to his place in Ohio. There was no benefit to the CRRM.

Does that make any sense?
