The upper part of the grade towards the quarry is now used as an ATV/hunting trail. The middle and lower parts are pretty much forgotten territory. One of the benefits of exploring railroads out west is the vegetation doesn't hide the grade so quickly and there's not so much intense multiple use of what is left. I'm sure there are lots of ties and artifacts buried beneath all of the leaf litter around Torpedo. Without a metal detector you would have little luck finding them.
200 years from now people will still be hiking the Carson and Colorado across Nevada. Lines like this sand operation will have been completely reclaimed by the earth...
