What's amazing and as you say something that really makes research and all
this so interesting is that unmolested, rail artifacts last a long time.
Out your way the tank foundations at Blair Jct are just like they were
when the line was pulled up in the forties. I live near a CMO branch which
was abandoned in 1971 and there's trestles that look nearly new. Makes
history become a bit more relevant to today.
