The two No. 8 BWG galvanized iron wires on the Silverton line
(No. 1 RR/DS and No. 108 W.U.)
were downed the final time in winter 1952 due to snowslides.
The line was abandoned in place after that and never restored.
I guess if it helps to keep the bighorn sheep from getting
tangled up in it, it ought to be picked up.
That is the thing about open wire pole lines...
They either have to be maintained and the wire kept up on the poles/crossarms, or it should be removed completely and not left lying around as a hazard to anyone or anything for 60 years.
