The gold Swiss rail pass I had on my last visit, some years ago, was also valid on the Post Buses which collect and deliver mail to remote villages. We rode from the Reichenbach Falls (site of the mythical death of Sherlock Holmes) to Grindelwald over a quite hair raising pass which is open only to the buses.

You should be warned that the Swiss franc is one of the World's strongest currencies which makes visits there very expensive indeed.
