The problem is people don't pay any attention to trains, crossing signals, etc. A kid was killed in Kirkwood, MO when he was hit by the Amtrak train awhile back. Kid was walking down the middle of the track with headphones on and no amount of horn blowing, etc was going to budge him. The P42 was quite effective in that regard, unfortunately. Not a darn thing the engineer can do in those situations but hit the brakes and horn while sending up a prayer, but that probably doesn't help ease how they feel. I can't imagine. Prayers for this woman.
