I'm going to have a lot of trouble discerning anything from photographs if I can't even tell one trestle from another. I thought all three of these photos, including the one Bret posted, were from Styx/Alder trestle. Tough to tell Styx from Kights in photos, apparently. Both trestles were curved, both had spurs on their west ends that traveled northward up the creeks they were crossing. I think the ground around Kights was a little bit steeper and the trestle a bit taller. I don't remember seeing a picture that is 100% known to be Kights trestle to compare to Styx. Bret, looking at your posted photo, two things make me think this is Styx/Alder. The work train at the extreme left of the photo seems to go through a low cut just before the photo cuts it off. The area at the west end of Kights seems flatter and a little wider, while the west end of Styx does have some small cuts. Also, in the photo you posted, at the very upper left appears to be sky appearing through the trees. I believe (?) Kights trestle is deeper in the Dads creek canyon, meaning more mountain would show behind a westward facing photograph of the trestle (I think!?!?!?). However, if I'm completely wrong, and all three of these are Kights trestle or somewhere else, I will be completely non-shocked at this point. I assume this photo is what is left of a trestle after a fire on the west end?
