Note that the area to the south of the tree, where I and countless other photographers have photographed trains, is on Jicarilla Apache property. There *was* a No Trespassing sign at the county road earlier this year, but when I was there last week it looks like someone removed the posting. So don't be surprised if someone asks you to leave when you are there waiting for the train!

Now a 16' step ladder would probably get you high enough you could stay on the road and out of harms way.
