Large Ponderosa Pine trees live 500 years or more. A tree less than 150 years old will have black looking bark. See [
www.nps.gov]
In the 1908 Photo of the current Juke's tree, the tree was mature and probably at least 200 years old then. 106 years have passed since 1908, so I would say that Juke's Tree is at least 300 years old, possibly older.
The oldest known living Ponderisa Pine is 950 years old see: [
fs.usda.gov]
I would discourage anyone from coring the tree to count the rings, as that might damage the tree and it could cause it to become diseased and eventually die.
