Yes!!
Yes!!
The temptation is, "this is the moment, quickly take the picture!!".
At times like that your mind is working a lot faster than you realize; you have lots of time to squeeze. With a smaller camera, I put my thumb under the camera so I can literally squeeze down on it; when my camera has an actual 'grip", I hold it tightly in my other fingers with my little finger maybe under it, so the camera isn't going anywhere as I squeeze down with my trigger finger. Back in college, I was in chemistry lab one day pouring alcohol from a large bottle into a beaker when suddenly I was surrounded by fire. I thought, "this must be alcohol vapor burning around me", so I put the cap back on the bottle and gave it a half twist, I put a watch glass over the beaker, and rolled myself on the floor. From my perspective, I was cool and methodical about it all, but the other students told me that it was maybe a second from when the flames started until I was on the floor. The professor asked me if I wanted to take the rest of the lab off and go home; no, I was fine ... but the lab instructor left!
