If you are shooting subjects up very close such as the Bee's your dept of field will be rather narrow. The farther away and higher the f# such as F16 or higher will get you a much better depth of field and there by a much sharper over all looking picture for the average viewer. The bird picture is great as there is the obvious motion of the bird. These type of photos are much harder to do than a steam loco with smoke!! Landscape photo's are the easyest to do at F16 and what ever shutter speed the modern camera desides for you.
