Hi,
If one of the goals is to catch winter weekenders passing through, maybe the round the wye would work on weekends only.
Extending to the west end of Chama was suggested to try to catch spur of the moment passer-bys that might not leave US 64(?). With a small depot there and a steamer an impulse stop might occur. I do not think this would be self supporting but it is an idea for MAYBE trying to catch more riders. Impulse riders are important. Using the crew called for a Cumbres helper would be trying to get more revenue for the already called crew.
People traveling US 64 might not even know or want to investigate Chama and the C&TS if they have to turn off the main US route to see. My Dad was like that - once we got hem to turn off, he enjoyed it but he did not like unneeded stops even on vacation.
Food for thought
