But by what criteria do you mean "world's largest operating steam locomotive"? SFAIK, both #4449 and #844 are still active, and at around 400 tons each in working order outweigh #6029 considerably. True, #4449 is only 96'-3" long,
* but with her booster running she puts out a hefty 78,650 pounds of tractive effort. IIRC, #844 doesn't have a booster, but with her 4-10-0 centipede tender she is very close to #6029 in length as well as more than half again as heavy.
OTOH, #6029 is a BEAUTIFUL machine and youse guys have every right to be very proud of her!
