I think the Carson City steak place you are thinking about is called Glen Eagles Restaurant. I was there last fall during the V&T HS meeting with a group lead by Stephen Drew. Seemed real good. I gather Stephen Drew would frequent the place when he is in town.

The Hampton Inn pricing is opposite most of the hotels/motels in the area. I guess its basic business is the usual business travelers -- so it has lower rates on the weekend. (I have the H Rewards program so I usually stay at the Hampton Inn.)

Best thing is to compare prices.
