The sound of multiple WWII warbirds overhead frankly just gives me chills! They of course have their own sounds. The P-51 sounds like some exotic supercar while the P-47 or F-4U sound more like "American Muscle" to me. You get that sound along with the sights and smells around an airfield and it's just awesome. My grandfather was in WWII in the 9th engineers 2nd corp and being around this stuff (whether it's the old warbirds or the jeeps/tanks, etc) just reminds me of him and is as close as I can get to experiencing that era. I guess that's one reason why I like old steam trains as much as I do too. BTW, I'm pretty sure that the SBD you showed here is the same one that was flying at the Spirit of St Louis airshow in Chesterfield, MO back in May. Awesome sight for sure.
